With it being located on Lake LBJ, Horseshoe Bay has a beautiful shoreline lined with powder-like sand that wraps around the marina. With services at your disposal like jet skis and luxury rental boats to enjoy the water you might forget that this resort also contains a total of 14 Tennis courts as well as three 18-hole golf courses. Along with the plethora of activities to choose from, one of the main attractions of Horseshoe Bay is the beauty of the resort. An oriental garden lives in between the tennis courts and scattered across the resort are waterfalls and all sorts of natural wonders where wildlife is often seen roaming.
There are 4 red-clay and 4 hard courts sewn into the lush foliage of the garden with the two types being roughly parallel to each other. Just a little walk south from these leads to an additional 4 hard courts as well as three quickstart courts for juniors and even further than these, almost isolated near one of the golf courses are another two clay courts for a more private feel.
The Director of Tennis at Horseshoe Bay, Michelle Stallard, has been instrumental in providing the wonderful tennis programs they offer today. She introduced the Getaway Tennis and Wine weekends that invite all players 21 and up to come to enjoy playing tennis and drinking some wine for the weekend. As well as the more casual programs offered like clinics and lessons for all ages they also offer a 4-hour ultimate tennis makeover that will help anyone understand and improve their game, whether you’re a beginner or you’ve been playing for 15 years. But, if you’re itching to compete then don’t worry because they also have 7 different tournaments for all skill levels and ages that are played throughout the year.
Horseshoe Bay offers a wide variety of activities so there is always something for everyone. Along with the four swimming pools, one being heated, there is also the Jungle Kids’ Club that offers fun climbing gym and daycare center for all children up to 12 so you can enjoy the wide range of services offered at the Bayside Spa in peace. Alongside the spa is the Bayside fitness center which contains all kinds of weight-training and cardio equipment as well as having daily classes hosted by professional trainers.
Accommodation & Dining
Lodging at Horseshoe Bay comes in a couple of different options. They have regular hotel rooms located in the central hotel called the Tower, but if you want a more homey experience you can get 1-3 bedroom apartments known as the Palm Villas that also come with little kitchens. If you want something more expensive you can go the Waters which are multi-room condos that come fully equipped with everything you could need to enjoy your stay at the resort, or you can go even bigger and get a private rental home with as many as four bedrooms. There are also multiple places to get food from around the resort, including the Yacht Club that serves seafood and the hotel that has more Texan food but you can also get snacks or sandwiches from the store in the lobby and at the Bayside Spa.
